Riding for a Reason: My 80km Challenge for MS Research
Friday 1st AugThis November, I’ll be cycling 80km from Sydney to Wollongong as part of the MS Gong Ride, and I’m doing it for something much bigger than just the finish line.
I’m riding for the 23,000+ Australians living with multiple sclerosis (MS) — a complex and lifelong condition with no known cure. Every pedal stroke I take is dedicated to raising awareness, funding vital research, and supporting the people who wake up each day facing challenges most of us couldn’t imagine.
Why I’m Riding
MS doesn’t have a single face. It affects people differently — from vision loss to mobility issues to constant fatigue. It’s unpredictable, invisible, and relentless. But the research community is making strides, and every dollar raised helps accelerate breakthroughs that improve lives and bring us closer to a cure.
My Goal
I’ve set myself the challenge of not only completing the 80km ride but also raising $1000 for MS research and support services. I’ll be training over the coming months, balancing early mornings, long rides, and plenty of sweat — and I’ll be documenting the journey along the way.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to, please consider donating to support this cause. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing this blog or my fundraising link helps more than you know.
