Day 1
Monday 25th Aug Hi im Brendan, a 19 year old social work student. Im trying to do this cycle as a point proven to myself but also for my Dad and his oldest mate Carl who suffers from the very crux of why this race exists. While I have only met him once when I was 12, it was a very important moment for me in my life. Not, that as a 12 year old boy growing up in a very middle class Sydney I wasn’t a little taken aback by the manifestations of this disease, because of course I was, but it was ultimately the family and the support he had around him that really broke my heart and opened my eyes.
