I'm taking the Challenge to fight MS!

I am taking part in the MS Gong Ride Virtual, the Ride to Fight MS.

I start my challenge on 1 October. You will be able to see my progress here on my page and support me along the way!

Why am I fundraising?

It’s quite staggering to think that multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other chronic neurological condition. It can strike anyone at any time and the symptoms vary so widely.

For instance, can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), you physically can’t get out of bed, can’t walk to the phone to call someone – anyone – or  live a life without pain?

All of a sudden, your world has changed.

Thanks to your generous support, the funds we raise will allow people living with multiple sclerosis to access vital MS support services. Support to keep Aussies living with multiple sclerosis connected to others and connected to the information and services they need to live their best life.

Thank you again for your support!

Thank you very much for your support of the MS 2020 Gong Ride

Sunday 15th Nov

Hi everyone,

Thank you again for your very kind donation to support people living with multiple sclerosis in the 2020 MS Gong Ride Virtual this October!

We have raised $1,563 and ridden 239km against the target of riding 234km on my Dad’s stationary bike. We had a little fun on the ‘last ride’ picturing oneself on the last day of the ‘tour’ (de France) and on the ‘podium’ celebrating ….. the pictures attached show some of the fun involved. Thank you very much to my support ‘crew’, videographer, photographer, and supporter! - Rachel!

Overall, everyone has contributed some much needed funds to support MS.

This is the first time the MS Gong Ride has gone virtual..

And we have contributed to the overall great news….

Thanks to you and our awesome community of riders, we’ve currently raised $742,735 (and maybe more now) in the ride to Fight MS!

How amazing is that? THANK YOU! 👏👏

Facts about the MS Gong Ride Virtual:

  • 1,713 riders participated
  • 302 teams
  • 394,784km were ridden – that’s the equivalent of riding around the world more than 9 times!
  • 3,830km is the highest distance achieved – Jason Potter from Carol's MS Crusaders
  • Riders participated from every state in Australia – amazing!
  • 19 international riders from Chile, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States!

Thank you again. Hope you have a great week ahead!

Thank you Ravi!.....and the 'double ton is up' for the cricket fans

Wednesday 28th Oct
Thank you Ravi for your very kind donation and very generous words of support. I have always loved your passion!

....and the 'double ton is up' for the cricket fans.....big milestone for me, 200kms has been achieved......I have a new found respect for the real cyclists out there. Maybe the 'Tour de France' just makes it look a little too easy......:)

Grand final day is here!......and thank you very much to my new donors!

Saturday 24th Oct
It's wonderful that Grand Final day is here.....albeit, very different!
Thank you very much to my new donors, Dan and Jason. Sincerely appreciated and love the humour! Cheers!

Half way there! and a very big thank you to my donors

Friday 16th Oct
Thank you so much to my donors to-date - Brad, AC, Mr Cook, Mr Raju and Harro - very generous towards a great cause.

Half way terms of the month.....only 89kms down, bit of work to do in the 2nd half.....stay tuned....

Welcome to the MS Ride with me!

Tuesday 6th Oct
First and foremost, hope you, your family and friends are all well during these difficult and challenging times.
I respect that times may be tough financially too, so I understand if you may not be in a position to donate. I have nominated the lowest target donation figure with that in mind, so as not to put any pressure on donation goals. Let's try and have some fun for the month together whilst we are in lockdown too. If you have the ability to donate, then please do - it's for a wonderful cause. I am more than happy to receive a one-off type donation or if you wish to have a bit of fun, donations are also welcome on a 'per kilometre' basis.....I have committed to ride at least 234km virtually through the month of October....I did have loftier goals originally, but then realised I have never ridden 234kms in a single month through my entire life!........and to the 'real bike riders' out there, it is not only 'virtual'...i.e not Sydney to Wollongong....but it's on an indoor exercise bike (unless I borrow a real one!)......and to those friends of mine out there who get motivated by 'accelerators' post 100% performance, feel free to give an 'accelerator' for every km post 234kms! Well that's me for now, take care and see you along the way........

Thank you to my Sponsors
