My 2020 MS Gong Ride Virtual challenge

The 2020 MS Gong Ride has gone virtual, but the objective remains the same - to raise money to fight MS.

This year, I will be challenging myself to ride the distance from Brisbane to Wollongong - that's 1005km - during the month of October.

My challenge starts on 1 October. You will be able to see my progress here on my page and support me along the way!

Multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other chronic neurological condition. It can strike anyone at any time and the symptoms vary so widely.

Thanks to your generous support, the funds raised will allow people living with multiple sclerosis to access vital MS support services. Support to keep Aussies living with multiple sclerosis connected to others and connected to the information and services they need to live their best life.

Thank you again for your support!

Wonderful support

Tuesday 13th Oct
I am very grateful for everyone’s generous support for my charity riding. I am managing to keep on top of my target kms and am just shy of 700kms ridden as at 13 Oct, hopefully I will be able to keep going and overachieve my goal!

Half way there

Saturday 10th Oct
I have made it to the half way point today with our local club ride. A bit shorter than usual as Alex has his soccer grand final and we’re going to cheer him on!

1 week down!

Wednesday 7th Oct
The first week of my Gong challenge is done - and I’m pleased to say I’ve managed a ride every day, ending on 380kms. I clocked up some good mileage over the first weekend but then  had to ease off slightly due to a sore back - I am hoping to be fully fit again for the second weekend to get well ahead on my target. Thanks to everyone who has supported me with sponsorship- it is much appreciated.

Day 1 run and done

Thursday 1st Oct
I was planning an early start today but got up to see a rain front rolling through so being a fair weather rider I decided to postpone for an hour. The roads were damp but the sun was beginning to break through when I did set off. Today was a straight out to Pie in the Sky and back , which unfortunately only opens at 9am in the week!
